Bullish on NEAR as AI Agent Infrastructure & Privacy L1

Bullish+34.10%

AI Summary

The author expresses a bullish view on NEAR Protocol, framing it as a privacy-focused AI agent operating system that complements ZEC, with a recommended entry zone around $3.5 in the early bull market.

I bought a pocketful of $ZEC back in July, and today I discovered this connection between $NEAR and ZEC: they basically move in tandem, and NEAR's TVL growth is directly correlated with ZEC! 🧐 I spent some time today researching NEAR's current positioning, so let me break it down simply. First, we need to discard the old notion that "NEAR is just another ordinary L1"! In the simplest terms: ZEC is responsible for keeping your "money" private, while NEAR is responsible for keeping your "business and entire on-chain life" private. If ZEC is the highly secure "private vault" in the on-chain world, then NEAR is the high-privacy, cross-chain fluid commercial highway and intelligent operating system surrounding that vault. 1️⃣ What exactly is $NEAR doing? Before diving deep into research, my mindset was likely similar to everyone else's, stuck in the previous cycle, simply thinking NEAR was just riding the hype of AI and privacy. That's not the case. NEAR is building an "operating system for autonomous AI agents." At the 2026 node, on-chain interaction has fully shifted from "humans manually trading coins on DEXs or farming yields" to "AI agents running strategies for you in the background 24/7." And what NEAR aims to do is provide these AI agents with a backend environment that is fast, cheap, and highly private. We can break down NEAR's core capabilities into four main sectors: · Intelligence (Private AI Inference): Utilizing TEEs for confidential computing. Simply put, this allows AI to run strategies and models inside a "black box," ensuring your data and trade secrets are never leaked to any third party. · Agents (Autonomous Agents): Supporting agents with long-term and short-term memory that can autonomously call on-chain tools and identity credentials, allowing them to execute tasks fully automatically in isolated environments (such as IronClaw). · Economics (Cross-chain Settlement & Intents): Through the AI-driven NEAR Intents mechanism, it achieves cross-chain payments, cross-chain DEX depth aggregation, and adaptive settlement. Whether it's a user or an AI Agent, as long as you input the "final requirement," the backend routing network will automatically complete the fulfillment via the fastest cross-chain path. · Privacy (Native Embedded Tech Stack): Privacy is no longer a cloth draped over a specific token; it is the底色 (base color) of the entire tech stack. From private GPU compute markets and multimodal AI Cloud to asset custody in private shards, privacy is encapsulated at the底层 (bottom layer) throughout the entire process. 2️⃣ NEAR and ZEC: A Powerful Complementarity! Recently, there have been voices in the market attributing ZEC's rise to short-term regulatory benefits (such as from the SEC). This interpretation deviates from the technical and commercial essence. The combination of NEAR and ZEC is fundamentally not about hyping concepts, but rather extremely hardcore technical and ecological complementarity. ZEC's Role: Privacy-focused BTC. ZEC focuses on solving the privacy of funds and transfers themselves (hiding transaction amounts, shielding sender/receiver addresses). It is a highly scarce on-chain native privacy value storage asset. NEAR's Role: The privacy channel and business extension for ZEC. Holding ZEC shields your address, making your funds safe, but as long as you use ZEC to participate in on-chain business activities (such as cross-chain DeFi, opening perpetual contracts on Hyperliquid, or authorizing funds to AI Agents), your behavioral trail remains easily exposed. NEAR fills this exact gap: Through NEAR's private shards and cross-chain Intents tracks, ZEC gains access to confidential traffic entry points and liquidity access to the full-chain ecosystem. Payments: Transfers no longer expose other assets held on your main chain or historical activity. Trading: Buying and selling assets on decentralized markets ensures that order placement and execution intents are not tracked by MEV or public ledgers. Derivatives: When playing perpetual contracts on Hyperliquid, position and leverage data are difficult to directly link to your main wallet. So, in one sentence: ZEC keeps your assets confidential, while NEAR keeps your entire suite of business behaviors confidential. As the scale of ZEC held and circulated within NEAR's private shards grows, NEAR Intents' TVL and the protocol-captured accumulated value will also rise, creating a two-way empowerment. This is also the key reason why they move in tandem. Today, I quietly chased the highs and bought some more $NEAR. My main core logic for being bullish lies in the following three points: First is the "infrastructure reconstruction" of the AI Agent era. NEAR did not engage in the race for decentralized compute training, because that is not a public blockchain's strong suit—it was disproven in 2024. Instead, it focuses on value settlement, private inference, and tool calling for AI Agents. It is a blockchain operating system with native AI infrastructure capabilities. Second is the strongest implementation product of chain abstraction. NEAR Intents is completely flattening the complexity of multi-chain interactions. Users and AI agents no longer need to know how cross-chain bridges work between ETH, Solana, and ZEC; they simply issue intents on the NEAR side, and solvers handle the clearing. Finally, narrative upgrade and cash flow accumulation. Transitioning from a simple "high TPS public chain" to a "privacy + AI + cross-chain intent hub," NEAR's ecological boundaries are infinitely expanded. As the ecosystem's private GPU market, AI cloud, and confidential DeFi are proven, NEAR token's actual network gas consumption and captured value will no longer be limited to the NEAR single chain itself, but will come from the entire full-chain agent economic network. Combining these three factors, the imagination space is enormous. Currently, $3.5 still belongs to the bottom range. In the early stages of a bull market, better to chase the highs and get on board than to miss out! 🧐 DYOR!
